805 Goats, a local company owned by LRHS alumna Emily Volpe Morris and her husband Scott Morris, delivered 100 goats on Thursday, December 20th to eat the vegetation on the hillside next to La Reina High School & Middle School and Notre Dame Center.
The company provides their customers with an all natural land management and fire mitigation approach. Goat grazing is an environmentally friendly method that eliminates invasive weeds and brush.
Over the next two weeks, the goats will munch on 17 acres, providing one hundred percent weed abatement. The generosity of Emily and her husband is a welcomed gift to La Reina and The Sisters of Notre Dame, as they offer these services free of charge. La Reina students, Ventura County officials, and the SNDs were excited to welcome the goats!
