Remembering Sr. Dwina Marie Towle

With hope that she is now enjoying eternal rest and with gratitude for her life of consecration, we announce the passing of our dear Sr. Dwina Marie Towle on Sunday, May 13.

Although she suffered from respiratory health issues for the past several years, Sr. Dwina Marie was fully engaged in various province gatherings, most recently over the weekend of April 28 and 29. Her entry into heaven on May 13 is particularly meaningful–as this day marked Mother’s Day, the Feast of the Ascension, and St. Julie’s Feastday (the date of her beatification).

Sr. Dwina Marie’s ministries were primarily in the area of service to the SNDs of the California province–cooking, sewing, nursing and overseeing the maintenance at Notre Dame Center. Like the valiant woman of the book of Proverbs, she was concerned about the needs of her household.

You are invited to join the Sisters of Notre Dame for the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Center with a reception immediately following. Committal will be on Monday, May 21 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.

We can be confident that she is interceding for us before our good and provident God.

Memorial contributions in memory of Sr. Dwina Marie may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement Fund, SND Advancement Office, 1776 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.
