The Year of Consecrated Religious Life – November 30, 2014 through February 2, 2016
Pope Francis has proclaimed the Year of Consecrated Life, which will continue through February 2, 2016. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Perfectae Caritatis, the decree on religious life, and Lumen Gentium, the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Church which honors all vocations as responses to the call to holiness. The purpose of this year is to make a grateful remembrance of vocations in the Church, as signs of hope for our world. The Church is inviting everyone to celebrate with consecrated men and women religious in our world today. The phrase “Wake Up the World” is a challenge for all of us.
