Sisters of Notre Dame in Southern California had a full slate of ministry activities this summer. The generosity of our donors allowed us to share God's redeeming love with people in Southern California and Uganda this summer by:
Parachuting with Angels - Vacation Bible School
Sacred Heart Church, Ventura
Sr. Margaret Mary Scott and her talented team of teachers presented children with the Gospel message in a fun, engaging format. Sr. Florette Marie Adams volunteered her experience as a music teacher to work with the preschool class and even created a special music experience for younger toddlers and their parents. Under Sr. Florette's guidance, the children and their parents explored rhythms and dancing as well as nursery songs. Children participating in the Bible school shared their experience at a Family Night which included a concert and a family activity.
The children also became Vitamin Angels by donating vitamins for children at St. Julie Mission in Buseesa, Uganda. Malnutrition is frequently a problem because families are not always able to provide three meals a day when the children are home from school on breaks. Sr. Mary Antonine Manning and other sisters at Notre Dame Center assisted the project.
