Toledo Blade Covers the Story When Women in Formation Visit Ohio
Our new postulant, Jane Leung, traveled to Toledo with Srs. Kris Fuller and Rosaria Parks to gather with 12 other women in formation with Notre Dame provinces in Ohio and Kentucky. The weekend of prayer, reflection, faith sharing and friendship was guided by director of junior sisters Sr. Amy Hauk, formation director Sr. Kathleen Burns and their counterparts. September 5, 2010 -- Notre Dame Learning Center invites former students and their families to a Five Year Reunion on Friday, September 24 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. A picnic dinner will be provided. Please RSVP to Sister Carol Marie at 805-494-0304 by Monday, September 20.

August 31, 2010 -- Sisters of Notre Dame celebrate 86 years of ministry in California today. Our initial service started at two parish schools and has since spread to five counties. Today you will find Sisters of Notre Dame in schools, parishes, hospitals, and archdiocesan offices. Join us in bringing hope to a diverse society!

August 23 , 2010 -- Fr. Richard Benson of St. John's Seminary lead a retreat for Notre Dame Boards of Trustees on Saturday. The trustees for our three community schools - Notre Dame Academy, NDA Elementary, and La Reina High School - spent Saturday, August 21 reflecting on the heritage and mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame as well as the Catholicity of schools.

August 16, 2010 -- Sisters of Notre Dame in California welcomed two novices from the Chardon, Ohio province during their annual business meeting this weekend. Sr. Lynette Miryam and Sr. Angela Marie arrived at Providence House in Long Beach earlier this month to spend their canonical year with Sister Mary Kristina, our novice. Sister Kathleen Burns serves as their formation director during this special time of prayer and study.

August 3, 2010 -- The Sisters of Notre Dame announce the death of Sr. Mary Christopher Smetanka yesterday morning at Notre Dame Center. She was a dedicated early childhood educator, consummate baker and generous hostess. Her funeral will be on Monday, August 9, at Notre Dame Center in Thousand Oaks.
