Single women, ages 18 – 40 are invited to consider unique summer service opportunities to assist in a Summer Bible Camp at St. Helen Parish in South Gate from August 6-11, 2006.  The Stretch Your Heart Summer Volunteer Program is sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame and takes place throughout the country.
   “The young women will be enriched not only by a good feeling of giving service to others in the Los Angeles area, but will also benefit by working side by side with religious women, by experiencing community living and by prayerfully reflecting on their experiences each evening,” said Sister Mary Judeen Julier, program coordinator.
    During the week of service, participants will live in a convent with the Notre Dame Sisters.  The sisters also are sponsoring additional summer service opportunities in Northern Kentucky and Ohio, working with migrants and refugees, and women and children in a crisis care facility.
