A Reminder About IRA Gift Transfers
In August 2006, the most sweeping pension legislation in over 30 years was signed into law. The Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA) included several significant tax incentives to enhance and protect retirement savings. One of the enactments of PPA allows taxpayers over 70 years of age, who itemize their deductions, to donate money to their favorite charities directly from their IRA account. This provision is effective only for the years 2006 and 2007 which means IRA donors have until December 31, 2007 to avail of this tax-free gift transfer.
If you wish to include the Sisters of Notre Dame of Los Angeles in your year-end contributions and planned giving, please consult with your IRA custodian or financial adviser. The Sisters of Notre Dame IRS Tax ID Number is 95-2005867.
We thank donors for giving whatever they can to support Life and Ministry activities that include:
Our work in the missions here and abroad
Spiritual and leadership opportunities for youth and adults
Our inner city work with the poor and marginalized
Care for our elderly, retired and infirm sisters
Upkeep and improvement of our facilities and programs.
All of our donors are remembered in the daily prayers of the sisters. If you have a special intention, please feel free to contact the Development Office via email or telephone at (805) 917-3714 so that we can share it with our retired sisters whose special ministry is Intercessory Prayer.
